The Computational and Experimental Neuroscience Laboratory is looking to fill a postdoctoral fellow position. This is a joint position with the University of Haifa which is based at the University of Arizona, USA. The research project is geared towards understanding the role of sleep in memory consolidation in behaving rodents. Applicants with a subset of the following skill set are strongly encouraged to apply:

- Scientific expertise or interests in hippocampus and/or sleep and/or prefrontal-cortex and/or Thalamus
- Behavioral neuroscience and animal training (rat preferred)
- Electrophysiology (in vivo chronic behaving, or in vitro). Wireless recordings.
- General laboratory skills (e.g. histology, surgery)
- Optogenetics

- 3D printing and CAD
- Biophysical computational modeling (NEURON or other simulators)
- Matlab programming and spike-data analyses

A postdoctoral position is available for a collaborative project between the groups of Sophie Deneve and German Sumbre, at Ecole Normale supérieure Paris. Paris in general, and the Ecole Normale in particular provides a very stimulating environment for theoretical neuroscientists. The 2 year position comes with generous travel and equipement funding, with a starting salary of 2600 euros per month.

The candidate should have a strong background in computational neuroscience as well as an expertise in the mathematical tools for analyzing large neuronal datasets.

The project will consist in computational modelling and analysis of whole-brain recordings using transgenic zebrafish larvae expressing GcaMP and Selective Plane Illumination Microscopy (SPIM).

"Biological mechanisms of social interaction and compassion"

Highly motivated applicants with a deep interest in the biological mechanisms of social interaction and compassion are invited to apply for a postdoctoral position starting on or before fall 2015. The primary responsibilities of the fellow include: 1) development of experimental paradigms with a focus on naturalistic interpersonal setups 2) basic and advanced analysis of physiological data (autonomic system and EMG) 3) management of a large-sample data collection 4) manuscript preparation. Project includes both normal population studies and compassion intervention studies.

This is a collaborative position between the Sagol Center for Brain and Mind (IDC, Israel) and the Center for Investigating Healthy Minds (Wisconsin University, USA). The researcher will be primarily located in Israel with annual travels to University of Wisconsin-Madison. The position is fully funded for three years and also includes dedicated funds for research expenses.

Requirements: The position is designed for a productive researcher with a PhD in biological psychology or neuroscience, who wishes to develop innovative approaches in social neuroscience. A background in designing and analyzing physiological experiments is required. Preference is given for candidates with strong computational skills, experience with Matlab programming, and experimental software, such as Psych Toolbox or Python.
